"With You" Screening at Bingham Cup 2012
Friday, 1 June 2012 from 19:00 to 23:00 (BST)
Manchester, United Kingdom
Please join IGRAB - the International Gay Rugby Association and Board and the Manchester Bingham Cup 2012 host committee for a special fundraising event to continue fighting homophobia in sport. We are proud to bring you a full feature screening of With You
With You is a feature length documentary focusing on the unique bond between a mother and son and how it was ultimately strengthened by the tragedy of 9/11. The film explores the lives of Mark Bingham, one of the heroes of United Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, and his mother, Alice Hoagland, a former United Airlines flight attendant. Mark was a proud, gay man, a fierce rugger, and a co-founder of the San Francisco Fog rugby team.
Devastated by her loss but inspired by the memory of her son, Alice becomes a nationally known authority on airline safety and a champion of LGBT rights across the country. Within the shadow of a national tragedy, With You illuminates a personal story of love, loss and the true nature of heroism.
Join us to view the full-length film in its entirety.
Before the event, join us for cocktails and nibbles. After the screening, stay for a panel discussion of how we can combat homophobia in sports with Alice Hoagland and Ben Cohen, and other anti-homophobia in sport leaders. After that, we will have a short Q&A with the filmmakers and Alice. Ending the evening, join us for a post-party with special treats. Portions of the proceeds from this event will go to help get the film distributed and the Stand Up Foundation, as well as to further the work of IGRAB to end homophobia in sport.
